Bob's World [DEMO RELEASE]


Hello! I hope you had a good morning (or good afternoon), this dev-log is to document the release of the demo for Bob’s World!

Bob’s World is most likely only going to have a demo (more like a prototype), because this projects purpose was simply to practice game development/design. You are free to play it if you would like, but I figured I would do a small post-mortem on it.

Bob’s World was… difficult to make to say the least, this was when I was just starting to learn to make music, which didn’t make it any easier. Not to mention, my sound design was lackluster as well. And my writing skills were (and still are) really bad.

Bob’s World (why is every paragraph starting with “Bob’s World”!?) also had multiple unused mechanics as well, one of them was Gravity Flips™! Gravity Flips™ would flip your gravity (who would’ve thought?) and make you walk on the roof or on the ground (This even worked on enemies!). However, this never got used because it never fit in the game. This also taught me to experiment a lot more when making games, because yes, sometimes you will make something that never gets used at all, and sometimes you will make something incredible that will be a large mechanic of your game! Overall, I would say I’m glad I went to work on this project, and made something that I actually like. Anyways, I’m not going to drag this out any longer, have a good day (or night)!
